Education

Illness, including mental illness, can disrupt education for persons of any age. Information in this section can help persons with mental illnesses or emotional disturbances achieve their educational goals.

Supported Education is a program for persons with psychiatric disabilities whose college or vocational education could not start or was interrupted as a result of their psychiatric disability.

We are collaborators in the Early Intervention Program at the Mamaroneck Avenue Elementary School in White Plains. This program provides assistance to students who have a variety of emotional, behavioral, academic and social difficulties.

Persons not affiliated with the schools above are welcome to contact us to learn how such programs might be created elsewhere. You may call our Information and Referral Service at 914-345-5900, extension 240, or e-mail us at help@mhawestchester.org.
