MHA’s Home at Last Campaign
People with mental illness deserve to have a home…at last!
You can make a difference!
“Home” …What a beautiful word! The security of permanent shelter fulfills a person’s
most basic and profound needs. And people with serious mental illnesses are no
exception. In fact, they need stable housing even more urgently than the rest of us.
Without it, they are more vulnerable to becoming victims of crime; more likely to live
on the street and far more prone to relapse.
For six decades, MHA has helped thousands of children, adults and families in
Westchester who suffer from severe mental illnesses or emotional disturbances. We
support recovery by providing employment services, supportive housing and a
clubhouse program to adults with psychiatric disabilities. With good treatment and
rehabilitation services, people recovering from mental illness can look to the future
with hope and become productive members of the community.
You can help support our housing initiatives, which include renovating our five, MHA-
owned buildings, furnishing 16 new housing units and providing housing for those
with serious mental illnesses who are on a waiting list for shelter.
