AWARE (Abused Women’s Action, Reflection, Exchange)
AWARE is a support group for women who are currently or have been
abused by an intimate partner. AWARE provides information
regarding orders of protection, family and criminal court, safety planning
and the dynamics of domestic violence.
AWARE is a safe place for women to explore their options and resources available to them
and is facilitated by a certified social worker with expertise and training in domestic violence.
FACES (Family Abuse Children’s Educational Series)
FACES is a time-limited group for children living in violent homes. The group helps children
understand and deal with the experience of witnessing or being the direct target of violence.
FACES also assists parents in effectively responding to their children’s reactions to the
violence they have experienced or witnessed.
WAVE (Workshop for Anti-Violence Education)
WAVE is a group program for men who are abusive to their female intimate partners.
WAVE holds men who are abusive accountable and responsible for their
behavior, while simultaneously teaching skills necessary to develop and sustain relationships that are non-abusive.
WAVE has English- and
Spanish-speaking groups available both during the day and evening. For more information about the

Services are available in English and Spanish.
Please contact individual sites for availability of a particular service in Spanish.
Cost
For treatment and support services, Medicaid and Medicare and
most private insurance companies are accepted. A sliding scale fee is available for individuals
without any insurance. Fees are based on an individual’s income.
No client is ever denied service due to an inability to pay a fee.
WAVE is not covered by insurance. The fee for WAVE is $35 per session. A reduced fee
is available for those who are eligible.
Staff/Service Providers
The staff members of the Family Abuse Services are licensed mental health professionals with
extensive experience and training in all aspects of domestic violence, and interpersonal
and psychological trauma.

assistance programs, and social service programs.
