The Mental Health Association of Westchester (MHA) is a community-based not-for-profit committed to recovery-focused mental health services through advocacy, community education and direct services. We have an exciting new opportunity for a Full-Time Family Specialist on our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. This team services assist individuals to identify goals for their journey of recovery and to develop plans to achieve those goals. ACT offers recovery-oriented person-centered treatment and case management services which respects each individual's dignity and right to self-determination and that promote recovery in the community. ACT helps individuals to obtain and maintain housing and employment, develop satisfying relationships, and manage symptoms and medication side effects. Services are offered in locations of the individual’s choice, rather than in an office setting. The Family Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments and providing a range of community based treatment, rehabilitation, and support services.
The Family Specialist must possess a Master’s degree in a Human Services field; hold an LMSW or LMHC licensure, and have a minimum one year experience working with families. The Family Specialist will have experience using culturally competent treatment approaches. Computer skills and recovery-oriented philosophy to practice are required.
The Family Specialist must possess a valid NY State driver’s license, and meet MHA guidelines to drive agency vehicles. Candidates must consent to Fingerprinting and a Criminal History Information Records search.
