Bronx River Pathway

5 mile path from the Kensico Dam in Valhalla to Greenacres Avenue in  Hartsdale
1 mile loop in Mount Vernon, north from Oak Street
3.6  mile section from Harney Road in Eastchester to Palmer Road in Bronxville.

North County Trailway

Freihofer “Bike ‘n’ Blade” Sundays

Portions of the Bronx River  Parkway close to vehicular traffic on Sundays  in spring and autumn from 10-2 . The 14-mile bicycling round-trip begins  at the Westchester County Center in White  Plains and runs south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers. http://www.nycroads.com/roads/bronx-river/

South County Trailway

Central Park - Manhattan

There’s so much to do in Central Park that it could be included in  every category. Make sure to spend some time here. Play frisbee on the  Great Lawn, skate at Wollman Rink, visit the zoo and explore Belvedere  Castle. Watch New York Road Runner Club races, boat at the Loeb Boathouse  and see the John Lennon memorial Strawberry Fields. Climb on the Alice in  Wonderland Statue, run through the formal gardens, have a picnic.

Bear Mountain State Park

You can hike or bike on  carefully marked trails, fish in season with a license (bring your own  gear), play baseball, basketball, and roller skate. In the summer,  swimming and boating are available. Winter activities include ice-skating,  sledding, and cross-country skiing. There is also a Trailside Museum/Zoo  open on the weekends.
