Her Honor Mentoring

Her Honor Mentoring offers a professional apprenticeship to 40 promising high school senior girls in Westchester. The program, which provides a platform for young women to reach their full potential, reinforces the importance of college education and ultimately a meaningful professional life. Young women achieve a sense of confidence and independence that will lead them to a career guided by their passion.

Developed by Nicole Sheindlin and Judith Sheindlin, Her Honor Mentoring provides an innovative way to boost self confidence in young women at the workplace and everyday life.

In August 2012, Her Honor Mentoring became a collaborative partner of MHA Westchester. For more information about this program, please visit http://www.herhonor.org

Nicole Sheindlin, Founder and Executive Director is the daughter of two judges— Honorable Gerald Sheindlin, retired New York Supreme Court Judge and the famous "Judge Judy" Sheindlin, retired Supervising Judge of the New York State Family Court. Nicole worked for 15 years as a public defender in the Bronx for the Legal Aid Society's Criminal Defense Division.

In 2006, Nicole began looking for a more proactive way to work with the community. She launched what ultimately turned out to be her new full-time job: the Her Honor Mentoring Program. Nicole lives in Larchmont with her husband and three children.

Judge Judith Sheindlin is an exemplary jurist, renowned author and star of the television show “Judge Judy.” Throughout her career, Judge Sheindlin has received numerous requests from young women seeking her advice and guidance. It is the Judge’s belief that encouraging women to be independent, through a vocation or profession they enjoy, will promote self-confidence and a successful life.
