Our CurriculaEducation is a powerful tool. To help protect our youth and to dispel misconceptions about mental illness, our staff members have developed curricula and related training programs to be used in the school setting. The curricula include:
Is It For Me?The curricula have been developed for use in schools. Beyond Good Touches/Bad Touches© is appropriate for use with elementary students All curricula are also appropriate for staff and faculty and other adults. Understanding Mental Disorders©
We provide training sessions to teach school personnel about the curricula presentation and related issues. We are also available to provide presentations to parents. WhereTraining workshops for Beyond Good Touches/Bad Touches© and the Adolescent Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention Curriculum© may be offered at one of MHA's sites, at Southern Westchester BOCES or at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES. In addition, schools and/or districts may arrange training sessions for their staff at their location or at one of our sites. Please telephone Barbara Bernstein, 914-345-0700, extension 311 or e-mail help@mhawestchester.org to discuss mutually convenient locations. WhenTraining sessions are usually scheduled during the school day. Telephone consultation is available Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM by calling 914-345-0700, extension 311. Languages SpokenServices are available in English only. CostFor training workshops on Beyond Good Touches/Bad Touches© and the Adolescent Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention Curriculum© held at Southern Westchester BOCES and at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, the fee is $85.00 per attendee and includes a copy of the curriculum. Training workshops for individual schools or districts are scheduled upon request and fees are determined by the number of participants. Training and consultation regarding Understanding Mental Disorders© are available upon request. Additional copies of the curricula are available as follows:
