Bilingual Clinician – Partners-in-Parenting

Position Summary

The Clinician is responsible for the provision of direct, home-based clinical services and coordination with other agencies serving the clients. A staff therapist is expected to know and follow the established policies and procedures of MHA of Westchester.

Hours of Work

The Clinician works 35 hours per week.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provides culturally sensitive direct, home-based clinical services that may include, but are not limited to, assessment and treatment planning; individual, family and group psychotherapy; crisis counseling; and community consultation and education, under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Partners-in-Parenting Shelter Plus Care program. The number of direct service clinical contacts is set initially at 10 per week, though this may change according to program needs.

  2. Identifies case management needs of clients and coordinates with other community agencies to have these needs met.

  3. Participates in program development and in training programs as requested by the Partners-in-Parenting/Home-Based Programs Manager.

  4. Follows established clinic policies and maintains appropriate professional standards.

  5. Provides after-hour emergency coverage via paging system.

  6. Meets MHA guidelines to drive agency vehicles.

  7. Performs other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Social Workers must possess a master’s degree in Social Work and be certified in New York State.

Psychologists must posses a doctorate in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) and be eligible for New York State licensing as a Clinical Psychologist within one year of being hired.

Candidates must consent to fingerprinting and a criminal history information Records search.

The Clinician must be fluent in Spanish.

Reporting Relationships

The Clinician reports directly to the Director of the Partners-in-Parenting Program.
