Stacey Roberts, LCSW
Stacey Roberts, LCSW
As Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Roberts is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the organization, corporate development, business operations and strategy. She has extensive operations and clinical experience across a wide variety of settings. Ms. Roberts, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, has spent the last 20 years in progressively more administrative roles with experience running direct services. She currently serves on Healthfirst's Westchester Behavioral Health Advisory Board and the Board of the New York State Coalition for Children's Behavioral Health. She earned her MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work and a post graduate certificate in the treatment of interpersonal trauma from Fordham University.
Vicki Penino, CPA
As Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Penino is responsible for the overall financial management of MHA, ensuring programs remain fiscally sound while providing quality service to the community. A Certified Public Accountant, Ms. Penino holds a BA in Accounting from Hunter College. She began her career at KPMG Peat Marwick and has served as an Assistant Vice President at the Bank of New York. She went on to be the Controller of ESL Investments. While raising her children, she was the controller of the family law firm. First joining MHA as an Accounting Manager in 2008, Ms. Penino worked in progressive leadership positions as Director of Finance and Deputy CFO before being appointed Chief Financial Officer.
Sonia Wagner, LCSW-R
A licensed clinical social worker with Masters Degrees in Social Work and Management, Ms. Wagner has extensive experience serving in leadership roles at several non-profits, including Executive Director of Jewish Family Service of Orange County and Response of Suffolk County. For the past 12 years, she has served as the Executive Vice President of the Mental Health Association of Rockland. As Chief Clinical Officer at The Mental Health Association of Westchester, she is responsible for executive oversight of all aspects of clinic and mobile clinical program operations, including executing and sustaining clinical strategic initiatives. Ms. Wagner frequently presents on suicide prevention and mental health to diverse audiences including law enforcement, college students, faculty, library staff, clinicians, and the general community.
Courtney Beach
As Chief Digital and Privacy Officer, Ms. Beach ensures that digital initiatives support MHA's strategic priorities and utilizes digital innovation as a catalyst for agency growth. Responsible for establishing new ways of working in support of these values, Ms. Beach also leverages digital advancements in other industries to drive innovation in health care. Ms. Beach has worked in healthcare for more than 15 years and has extensive expertise in practice and operations management, compliance, workflow redesign and implementing and optimizing functionality within Electronic Health Records. She earned a BS from LeMoyne College.
Jim Adasek
Mr. Adasek oversees the implementation and operations of the agency's cutting-edge information systems and technology, ensuring accessibility and security in an increasingly innovative technology driven field. With nearly 30 years of Information Systems experience, Mr. Adasek leads a growing team of staff certified in remote access with CITRIX, Certified Novell Administrator and Engineer, Cisco Network Administrator, A+ Desktop Technician, Telecommunications and Microsoft Certified IT Professional.
Cathy Karpowicz, LMSW
As Compliance Officer, Ms. Karpowicz’s primary responsibility is to ensure that MHA adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies governing its operations. Her role is to safeguard the organization’s integrity, reputation and mission by promoting ethical conduct and compliance with standards. Ms. Karpowicz, a Licensed Master of Social Work, is a graduate of the Fordham Graduate School of Social Service where she earned an MSW. Ms. Karpowicz has extensive direct care and administrative social work experience. Ms. Karpowicz holds a NY State School Social Worker certification and is a Certified Field Instructor for graduate social work students.
