Coordinator-Training Peer Services - White Plains, NY

Join our Team! We have an exciting new opportunity for a Program Coordinator-Peer Services in our Peer Services Program in White Plains, NY.  

SUMMARY of DUTIES
Peer-professionally run and recovery-oriented, offered at the Sterling Community Center (SCC) in White Plains/remotely, MHA's Peer Specialist Training program helps prepare individuals to provide peer support in both traditional and peer-run behavioral health settings, as well as obtain New York State Peer Specialist Certification/ Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPAs). The Coordinator of Peer Training Services is responsible for coordination, recruiting, marketing and supervision of all aspects of the MHA Peer Training Program and the MHA Adult Home Peer Support Program.

SPECIFIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBITLIES
1.    Coordinates all aspects of the MHA Peer Training Program in collaboration with the Recovery Network Program Director, Coordinator of SCC and other MHA staff.  This includes the revision and oversight of the class curriculum as well as the class schedule and instruction.
2.    The Coordinator is responsible for the marketing, recruitment and retention of students so that the program meets established goals and metrics.  
3.    The Coordinator will be expected to support students in completion of the course work and provide support to those students pursuing certification through the Academy of Peer Specialist (APS)/Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPAs) 
4.    The Coordinator will oversee internship development and support, class graduation and alumni support. 
5.    The Coordinator will establish partnerships with collaborative agencies identified by the NY Certification Board; also identifying Certified CRPA Curriculum trainers as Independent Consultants when necessary.
6.    The Coordinator will facilitate/co-facilitate the MHA Peer and Family Advisory Board.
7.    Responsible for the timely completion of assigned documentation, including outcome tracking evaluations and annual reports.
8.    Responsible for participation in staff trainings, staff meetings and meetings with outside agencies and providers as assigned.
9.    Participates in agency’s quality assurance initiatives.
10.    Responsible for adhering to all standards and guidelines established by applicable regulatory authorities. 
11.    Follows the established agency policies and maintains appropriate professional standards.
12.    Establish and maintain a culture that is recovery oriented and grounded in service excellence.  
13.    Provide supervision, mentoring, coaching and performance reviews for direct reports. 
14.    Practice with a person-centered, trauma informed philosophy in alignment with the values of MHA.
15.    Other designated and related duties.

9.    The position also requires an understanding of the necessary skills and competencies required for a high-quality peer training, instructional techniques and the recovery vision.  
10.    Familiarity with and ability to use an Electronic Health Record system.

QUALIFICATIONS
1.    A Bachelor’s degree in a human services field is preferred. 
2.    The Coordinator must have a minimum of 4 years work experience in human services. 
3.    The Coordinator must be a certified peer through the Academy of Peer Specialist (APS) and The Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPAs).
4.    The Coordinator must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of person-centered practice and values.  
5.    Lived experience of recovery from a mental health condition/substance use disorder is desired for this position. 
6.    Proficiency in computer skills in EHR, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets and data base management are required 
7.    Must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality. 
8.    The Program Coordinator must have a valid Driver’s License and a driving record that is satisfactory to our insurance carrier. 
9.    The Program Coordinator must maintain current New York State Defensive Driving certification.
10.    The Program Coordinator must be cleared NYS Justice Center through fingerprinting for a Criminal History Records search. 
11.    The Program Coordinator must be cleared by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs Staff Exclusion List (SEL) and the New York State Medicaid Exclusion List. 
12.    The Program Coordinator must be cleared by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) for instances of child abuse and/or neglect. 
13.    The Program Coordinator must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
