Westchester Welcomes Three New Members to Board of Directors

The Mental Health Association of Westchester (MHA) is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Jennifer Kasoff, Sean Mayer and Donna Renella to its Board of Directors.

“Our Board of Directors plays an integral role in advancing MHA’s mission of offering person-centered and recovery-oriented treatment and support services to thousands of people throughout Westchester each year, and I am pleased to welcome Jen, Sean and Donna as new Board Members,” said MHA CEO Dr. Amy Kohn. “I am honored that they have chosen to devote their time and talents to helping MHA raise awareness for mental health issues, and their combined backgrounds will be immense assets to our organization.”

Jennifer Kasoff, an experienced nonprofit professional, has worked as a consulting writer, editor and researcher for leading nonprofits. Kasoff, who holds a B.A. from Yale University and an M.P.A. in Nonprofit Management from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, has also served as a grantwriter for Safe Horizon, University Settlement and MHA.

Sean Mayer, a 20-year veteran in the journalism industry, recently moved from a distinguished career at The Journal News to Thompson & Bender, an advertising, marketing and public relations firm in Briarcliff Manor. A graduate of Binghamton University, Mayer helped bridge a relationship between the Journal News Media Group and MHA in order to develop a multi-platform suicide prevention initiative.

Donna Renella, a human resources professional with more than 25 years of experience, is currently the President of ABW Solutions, LLC, a recruitment and consulting firm. Renella, a graduate of Hunter College with a B.A. and M.A. in Economics, has held contributor and advisory roles with PR Week, as well as appointments as Chair of the HR Roundtable and Diversity Chair for the Council of Public Relations Firms.
