The Mental Health Association of Westchester (MHA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Courtney Beach to the position of Chief Innovation Officer. In this newly created role, Beach will oversee the cultivation and execution of the behavioral health agency’s data and analytic technology, including the upcoming launch of a new electronic health record.
“We are excited to welcome Courtney to MHA, where she will play a critical role in developing strategies to advance our core goals surrounding a belief in recovery for all and quality care for our clients,” said MHA CEO Charlotte Östman, LCSW-R. “The current value based healthcare environment requires the efficient collection, reporting and analysis of information to measure effectiveness and customer satisfaction. The creation of the Chief Innovation Officer role was a natural addition to our leadership team as we prioritize our use of data to drive care and business decisions. With her expertise around population health, person centered care and health information technology, Courtney will be a tremendous resource to our agency.”
Developing innovative approaches to clinical engagement, Beach will also champion technology that will seek to further MHA’s efforts in predictive healthcare analytics, improving access to care and the use of the most modern supports and practices. These will include telehealth, web-based materials, phone applications, standardized tools and dashboards. This means clients will see in real time how they are progressing and can more actively participate in decision-making through better information. It also means better care coordination with other providers and community resources.
“I am excited to work with an organization deeply focused on transformation and innovation and delivering high quality behavioral health services that are capable of changing lives,” said Beach. “I look forward to helping the agency move forward in coordinating care through data collection and information sharing with other healthcare settings.”
Beach brings a strong record of accomplishment to the agency, with extensive expertise in practice and operations management, medical management compliance and workflow optimization. Prior to joining MHA, she served as Senior Consultant at The Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative. Passionate about helping organizations redesign their clinical workflows and understand care-standardization protocols to enhance the patient experience, Beach is also a national and regional speaker on patient-centered care. She received a Bachelor of Science from LeMoyne College and a Patient Centered Medical Home Certified Content Expert certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
