Volunteer

Volunteers are vital to The Mental Health Association of Westchester. Our two signature volunteer opportunities are Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the Host Visitation Program, which provide support for children in foster care or at risk for foster care.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)

CASA volunteers advocate for children who are under the supervision of the Department of Social Services and Family Court. After completing a 30-hour training, volunteers help monitor the care of their assigned child and advocate for services.

Host Visitation Program

Volunteers in our Host Visitation Program assist families who have children placed in foster care by supervising and supporting them during family visits. For both the children and families, these visits are critical and help reduce the trauma children experience by being separated from their families. Volunteers must complete a 15-hour training program.
