Resources to Commemorate Juneteenth
In recognition of Juneteenth, The Mental Health Association of Westchester will be closed on Monday, June 20th. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, recognizes the end of slavery in the United States and specifically commemorates the events of June 19th, 1865 - the day the news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached Texas, freeing approximately 250,000 Black people who remained enslaved there.
